The B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science is a four-year undergraduate programme divided into eight semesters. Established in 2020 with an intake of 60 students, this department blends core Computer Science fundamentals with advanced expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, preparing students for the future of intelligent technologies.

Dr. D. Shanthi

Professor & Head, Department of AI & DS

Qualification: Postdoctoral Research (USA), Ph.D. in CSE, M.Tech CSE, B.Tech CSE, PG Diploma in AI & ML (NITW), M.Sc. (Psychology) (AU), UGC-NET (2024)

Experience: 18 years in Academia and Research

Specialization: Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Biometrics

  • Completed Postdoctoral Research at California Public University, USA
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science from JNTU Hyderabad (2020)
  • PG Diploma in AI & ML from NITW with a CGPA of 3.66
  • Qualified UGC-NET (2024) in Computer Science
  • Published 16 Patents (10 National and 6 International), including one MSME-funded worth ₹15 lakhs
  • Holds 3 Copyrights (2 National, 1 International)
  • Authored 45 research papers in reputed journals such as IEEE, Springer, and Inderscience
  • Guided Ph.D. scholars from CDU and Lincoln University College (Malaysia), with one successfully awarded a Ph.D.
