Our Journey of Excellence

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at VMTW was established with a vision to provide quality education and foster overall student development, evolving into a centre of academic excellence and innovation over the years.

2008

Department of CSE established with an initial intake of 90 students.

2011-2023

Intake progressively increased to 120 (2011), 180 (2019), 240 (2023) and 360 (2025), reflecting the department’s growth and demand.

2019

B.Tech CSE program accredited by NBA, marking a milestone in academic excellence.

2022

Reaccredited by NBA, valid till 2025, ensuring sustained quality standards.

Advanced laboratories, Centres of Excellence in IoT and AI&ML, well-equipped computer centre, licensed software, and strong industry collaborations through MoU’s with organizations like MSME, ALEAP, and TASK

Core Computer Science subjects including Data Structures, Algorithms, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Database Management Systems, Software Engineering, along with emerging areas like IoT, AI&ML, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Computing.

Meet our Head of Department

Dr. Phijik Battula

Head of Department

Dr. Phijik Battula is the Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Vignan’s Institute of Management and Technology for Women (VMTW), Hyderabad. Holding a Ph.D. in Information Technology from Osmania University, along with an M.Tech (CSE) and MCA, she has over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration. Her expertise includes Computer Networks, Network Security, Machine Learning, Blockchain, and Distributed Systems. She has published 16+ research papers in reputed journals, holds a Government of India design patent, authored a book on Computer Networks and Network Security, and has guided over 100 B.Tech projects. A life member of ISTE and AIMER, she is also an active member of IAENG and SDIWC, with extensive involvement in FDPs, workshops, and academic leadership.

Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and Engineering sciences.

Design/Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions
