- Key Achievements
Dr. D. Shanthi is a Professor and Head of the Department of Information Technology at VMTW, Hyderabad, with over 18 years of experience in academia and research. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from JNTU Hyderabad (2020) and completed her Postdoctoral research at California Public University, USA. Her expertise spans Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Agentic AI, Software Engineering, and Biometrics. She has authored 45 research papers in reputed journals including IEEE, Springer, and Inderscience, with 537 citations, an H-Index of 12, and an i10-Index of 13. She has filed 16 patents — one selected for an MSME-funded project worth ₹15 lakhs — and holds 3 copyrights. A recognised Ph.D. guide at JNTUH, she has mentored 2 doctoral scholars, one of whom has been awarded the degree. She serves on the editorial boards of Microprocessors & Microsystems (SCI), Discover Computing (Springer), American Journal of Software Engineering and Applications, and IJERT. She has been invited as an expert speaker by RCI Hyderabad, IEI Hyderabad, Telangana State Residential Degree Colleges, Thiruvalluvar University, SRM (AP), and Chaitanya Deemed University. Her scholarly contributions include 2 national books, 4 international books, 3 Scopus-indexed volumes (Bentham Science), and 1 AICTE-translated Software Engineering textbook.
