The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at VMTW was established with a vision to develop technically competent engineers who can design, innovate, and implement advanced electronic and communication systems to meet industry and societal needs.

Meet our Head of Department

Dr. Thanam Pullaiah

obtained his PhD in the Faculty of Electronics and Communication Engineering

Dr. Thanam Pullaiah is a senior academician with over 25 years of teaching experience and 2 years of industry experience in Electronics and Communication Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from JNTUH, an M.Tech in Digital Systems and Computer Electronics, and a B.E. in ECE. His expertise includes Data Compression, Digital Systems, Optical Communication, and Embedded Systems. He has published 17 international research papers, holds two international patents, and has guided over 100 undergraduate and 40 postgraduate projects. He has organized several FDPs, workshops, and DST-sponsored programs, played a key role in establishing industry collaborations, and is an active member of IEEE and a Life Member of IAENG.

Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and Engineering sciences.

Design/Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions

Modern Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
