Exam Rules

Attendance Requirements

  1. A student is eligible to write the University examinations only if she acquires a minimum of 75% attendance in aggregate of all subjects.
  2. Condonation of shortage of attendance in aggregate up to 10% (65%–75%) in each semester or I year may be granted by the College Academic Committee.
  3. Shortage of attendance below 65% in aggregate shall not be condoned.
  4. A student short of attendance may seek re-admission into that semester/I year within 4 weeks from the commencement of class work.
  5. Students whose shortage of attendance is not condoned are not eligible to write the end-semester exam, and their registration stands cancelled.
  6. A stipulated fee is payable towards condonation of shortage of attendance.
  7. A student is promoted to the next semester if the attendance requirement is met, including days of sports, games, NCC and NSS activities.
  8. A candidate who fulfils the attendance requirement in the present semester is not eligible for re-admission into the same class.

Minimum Academic Requirements

  1. Promotion from II year to III year requires 17 of 28 credits (I sem) or 34 of 56 credits (up to II sem), regardless of whether exams were attempted, plus minimum attendance in II-II.
  2. Promotion from III year to IV year requires 50 of 84 credits (up to III-I) or 68 of 112 credits (up to III-II), plus minimum attendance in III-II.

R15 Regulations (JNTUH, effective 2015-16 batch)

  1. I → II Year: requires 28 of 56 credits from I Year, with 75% minimum attendance in I Year.
  2. II → III Year: requires 50 credits from one regular + one supplementary of I Year, and one regular + one supplementary of II-I, irrespective of exam attempt.
  3. III → IV Year: requires 84 credits — two regular + two supplementary of I Year; two regular + two supplementary of II-I; two regular + one supplementary of II-II; one regular + one supplementary of III-I.
  4. Lateral Entry (LE) — II → III Year: 56 credits from one regular + one supplementary of II-I.
  5. Lateral Entry (LE) — III → IV Year: 50 credits from two regular + two supplementary of II-I; two regular + one supplementary of II-II; one regular + one supplementary of III-I.
